How each figure is taken

  • Chest: Across the chest 2.5 cm below the armhole, doubled.
  • Body length: From the high point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
  • Sleeve: From the shoulder seam to the cuff edge.
  • Shoulder: Seam to seam across the back.

Measured flat, finished garment. Tolerance ±1 cm (±0.4 in). Cut straight through the body. Sized on the mens block; size down one for a closer fit.

What this piece does not do

  • A layer, not a shell. It has no water-repellent finish.

The thinking

The overshirt is the most efficient thing in a carry-on: worn open it is a jacket, worn closed it is a shirt, and it costs one slot either way.

Brushed cotton-nylon twill at 210 gsm, cut with a straight hem so it works over a tee or under a shell.

Sleeve tabs hold the roll at the elbow without the fabric creeping back down.
