What we collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, email address, telephone number, postal address | You, at checkout or on a form |
| Commercial information | Orders placed, pieces and sizes bought, returns, order value | Generated by your purchase |
| Internet activity | Pages viewed, referring page, approximate region, browser and device type | Automatically, in server logs |
| Customer correspondence | The content of messages you send us and our replies | You, when you write to us |
| Trip details | Destination, climate, trip length and baggage limit, if you use the advice form | You, on the trip advice form |
We do not collect or store payment card numbers. Card details are handled by our payment processor and never reach our servers or our database.
The Pack Planner collects nothing. Everything you select in it is computed in your browser and stored only in your own browser's local storage. The answers, the resulting list and the PDF you print are never transmitted to us.
We do not collect biometric information, precise geolocation, government identifiers, or any of the categories treated as sensitive personal information under California law.
Why we collect it
- To take, fulfil and deliver your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
- To answer your messages and provide customer service.
- To send order-related emails such as confirmations, dispatch notices and tracking.
- To send marketing email, but only if you asked for it, and only until you unsubscribe.
- To keep the site working, detect fraud and abuse, and keep our records straight.
- To meet tax, accounting and consumer protection obligations.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not run cross-context behavioural advertising.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary with service providers who act on our instructions and are contractually restricted from using it for anything else:
- Payment processing — to take payment and handle refunds and disputes.
- Shipping carriers — name, address and telephone number, to deliver the parcel.
- Email delivery — to send transactional and, where you opted in, marketing email.
- Hosting and database — to run this website and hold order records.
- Professional advisers — accountants and lawyers, where genuinely needed.
We also disclose information where the law requires it, and we would disclose it to a buyer if the business were sold — in which case this notice would follow it.
We do not sell or share your information
We have not sold personal information, and we have not shared it for cross-context behavioural advertising, in the preceding twelve months. We have no plans to. There is nonetheless a dedicated Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page so that the request channel exists and stays exercisable.
How long we keep it
| Record | Kept for |
|---|---|
| Order and transaction records | 7 years, for tax and accounting |
| Customer service correspondence | Until the matter closes, then 24 months |
| Trip advice requests | 12 months |
| Marketing subscription records | Until you unsubscribe, then 24 months as proof of consent |
| Server logs | 90 days |
Security
This site is served over HTTPS with HSTS. Access to order records is restricted to staff who need it. Card data never touches our systems — it is handled entirely by our payment processor, which maintains its own PCI DSS compliance. No system is perfect, and we would rather say that plainly than claim otherwise.
California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act gives you the following rights:
- Right to know what personal information we have collected about you, the categories, the sources, the purposes, and who we disclosed it to.
- Right to access a copy of that information in a portable format.
- Right to delete personal information we hold about you, subject to legal exceptions such as completing a transaction or keeping tax records.
- Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do neither, and the channel is available regardless.
- Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect any.
- Right to non-discrimination — exercising any of these rights will never affect the price you pay or the service you receive.
How to exercise a right
Two channels, both free:
- Email support@vagabondapparel.shop with the word “Privacy” in the subject line.
- Call +1 614 108 9613 during Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:00 Eastern Time.
We acknowledge requests within 10 business days and respond substantively within 45 calendar days, extendable once by a further 45 days if the request is complex, in which case we tell you why before the first period ends.
We will need to verify who you are before acting, usually by matching the email address and order details on file. An authorised agent may act for you with written permission, and we may still verify with you directly.
If we say no
If we refuse a request, we tell you which exception we relied on and why. You can appeal by replying to that response with the word “Appeal”; a different person reviews it and answers within 45 days. You may also complain to the California Privacy Protection Agency or the California Attorney General.
Cookies and local storage
This site uses only what it needs to work. There are no advertising cookies, no third-party trackers and no analytics pixels that follow you elsewhere.
- Local storage — your bag. Keeps the pieces you added so they survive a page reload. Stays in your browser.
- Local storage — Pack Planner. Keeps the pieces you saved to the planner. Stays in your browser.
- Session storage — first-visit intro. Records that you have seen the opening screen so it does not repeat.
- Session cookie — admin sign-in. Set only for staff using the administration area.
Clearing your browser storage removes all of these. Nothing here identifies you to us.
Children
This site is for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
When this notice changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we email everyone affected before it takes effect.
