The thinking

A poncho is the only rain layer that covers a bag at the same time as a body, which is why it survives in a catalogue full of fitted garments.

Seam-taped 20 denier nylon with a coated backer, cut with a back extension that clears a 20 litre pack.

Side snaps close it into something closer to a jacket when there is wind.
