The thinking

The belt is the last thing you take off at a checkpoint and the first thing you drop on the floor. Not having to is worth twenty-nine dollars.

The buckle is a glass-filled polymer with a cam lock — no metal core, no pin, nothing to trigger a detector.

The strap ships long. Trim it with scissors against the printed guide and seal the cut end with a lighter or a hot knife.
